		Exclusively Linear and Torque motors Due to the outstanding performance of the direct drive technology and over 8 years of very successful experiences with direct drives Röders decided to exclusively build machines with linear and torque motors and to stop production of all machines driven by ball screws.

		Energy-saving with linear motor technology It is a widespread opinion that linear motors are very energy consuming. Röders now has measured the energy consumption and found that due to modern drive technology and lower friction in the axes machines with linear motors need significantly less energy than comparable machines with ball screw drives. At exactly the same machining time of a typical mould the energy savings in the axes are 12%. For the same quality of the mould the energy savings are even 20% due to the higher dynamics of the linear motor machines.
