The RPT machines are the first machines with complete PRECITEMP®-Technology
and therefore achieve the highest levels of accuracy even when the ambient tempe­ra­tures at the instal­lation site are not constant. In addition, a new guideway concept enables quasi-hydro­static running behavior without having to bear the high costs of hydrostatics.

The reliable geometric stability of the RPT machines enables quality control of the machined workpieces directly in the machine. Röders offers proce­dures for geometric precision control of the machines, which check their measuring accuracy. In this way, the extra step of workpiece quality control in a separate measuring room can be saved for many appli­ca­tions. The measu­rement protocols and measu­rement strategies were developed together with well-known providers of measuring equipment.

Renishaw’s Produc­tivity+™ is a possible solution for operating the Röders machine for quality control, e.g. by measuring standard geome­tries like roundness, evenness, distance etc.

Alter­na­tively the software INSPECT from HEXAGON may be utilized.

PRECITEMP® I, II, III

The main reason for dimen­sional devia­tions on workpieces are tempe­rature fluctua­tions in the machine or the environment. With PRECITEMP® I, II or III this is no longer a problem. Depending on the requi­re­ments, the machine can be confi­gured to the necessary level of precision by compre­hensive tempering and software compen­sation with the PRECITEMP® I, II or III modules if ambient tempe­ra­tures are not constant, as is often the case in workshops even if they are air-conditioned.

For rotary axes with torque motors it is common to temper the motors with water. Röders goes one step further and optio­nally also tempers the bearings and the machine table in the rotary axes. Dimen­sional devia­tions at higher speeds are thus signi­fi­cantly reduced.

For efficient parts production, workpieces without pallet can directly be exchanged for processing in the machine. The handling of workpieces of different sizes is realized by automa­ti­cally changing the gripper. Workpieces clamped on pallets can also be used in the same system. In this case the direct clamping system, which is mounted on a pallet, is removed from the machine by the automation.

Efficiency And Reliability

An ideal production environment is the condition
for highest possible quality.

Our entire assembly area is kept at a constant tempe­rature by the latest air-condi­tioning technology, with control of the floor tempe­rature and special hose venti­lation. The process heat generated by the machines under test is removed directly via a separate, central cooling circuit and is not allowed to dissipate in the hall itself. This reduces the energy consumption and is also ecolo­gi­cally sound.

The excep­tio­nally high level of in-house develo­pment for our machines with regard to the control technology, the drive technology, the construction and the appli­cation technology provides the sound basis for very efficient service. Several independent surveys by technical journals have repea­tedly confirmed that our service is industry-leading. Thanks to our detailed knowledge of all the main machine components, time-consuming queries at suppliers are avoided. Any problems or malfunc­tions which may arise are solved effici­ently and speedily by our own experts.

Online Remote Diagnosis

Almost from the very start, remote diagnosis over telephone line or the Internet was a firm part of the Roeders control technology. Appli­cation problems especially can be rectified very quickly and effici­ently in this way.

Our service techni­cians are able to check all parameters and logs of the control system directly via a telephone connection. In the event of a fault in the machine, it can be localised very quickly. Should it become necessary for the service technician to visit the customer after all, the preli­minary analysis means that the technician can already bring the right spare parts and further delays are avoided.

The customer decides when access is to be allowed; the online service can only gain access to controls that have been enabled accordingly.

The online remote diagnosis helps to ensure a high level of machine availability.

At present, we recommend that online remote diagnosis is performed with the aid of the “TeamViewer” software.

Control Updates

Maschine RMS / RFM

This unique service makes it possible to update the Roeders control cost-effec­tively to the newest version on all machines delivered since 1995.

As a result, the machining times are reduced considerably, together with a distinct impro­vement in accuracy and surface quality. In this way, even older machines are able to benefit from the conti­nuous and intensive advancement of the Roeders control systems.

This is another reason why the Roeders HSC machines have such a high intrinsic value.
Also for the automation from Röders software updates are available, which mainly increase the functionality.

CAM Support

Application Support

The efficiency of milling or grinding depends on a variety of parameters.
The HSC machine is just one of these parameters.

The strong advan­tages and outstanding results possible with High Speed Cutting can only be achieved if all parameters are optimised.

A specialist always offers more in his field than a generalist. Therefore, Röders deliberately decided not to develop other techno­logies but to focus completely on HSC machining. Röders’ years of experience, also in its own mould production, as well as a well-equipped appli­cation and test centre are the sound foundation for customer support.

Röders has in-house CAM programmers that are profi­cient in the use of the leading CAD/CAM systems, and can therefore offer on-site customer support or special program­ming training on the customer’s own CAM system. If desired, machining tests can be performed with the customer’s CAM system.

Quality Assurance

The assembly sequence and the initiation of the machines
are defined precisely and down to the last detail.

Before assembly starts, all machine components are checked on a highly accurate coordinate measuring machine. Important machine charac­te­ristics, such as the geometry, are recorded. The quality of the electrical signals is noted.


After assembly of the HSC machines, their complex technical systems are subjected to numerous test routines, including a short machining trial. Every machine is tested in this way by Röders appli­cation specialists.
